About BeaconLit

BeaconLit is in its seventh year and is continuing to grow.  Run and staffed entirely by volunteers, its two main aims are: to nurture reading and writing in and around the Beacon Villages, and to support the Beacon Villages Community Library. See http://www.bvcl.org.uk for more details. 2021 sadly will not happen in person but we hope to bring you the next festival on 9th July 2022.

Nestling in Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the ‘Beacon Villages’ loosely embraces the many small communities close to Ivinghoe Beacon, the starting point of the Icknield Way to the east and the Ridgeway path to the west.  The villages include Ivinghoe, Pitstone, Ivinghoe Aston, Slapton, Marsworth and Cheddington – but BeaconLit events are open to anyone from anywhere.

In addition to future festivals, the BeaconLit Committee is considering other future literary events.  Keep up with us through this website or subscribe to our email updates at beaconlit@bvcl.org.uk, with ‘Subscribe’ in the subject box.
