‘Poirot’ star and thriller writer Hugh Fraser among first names announced for BeaconLit 2017
Hugh Fraser, perhaps best known as ‘Captain Hastings’ from ITV’s ‘Agatha Christie’s Poirot’ series, is also an accomplished thriller writer and is amongst those taking part in BeaconLit 2017, taking place on Saturday 8 July 2017 in Brookmead School, Ivinghoe, Bucks, UK.
Others taking part include: ‘hot new authors to watch’ Steph Broadribb, Harriet Cummings and Clare Swatman (pictured left to right below); publisher Karen Sullivan, powerhouse ower of award-winning Orenda Books; BBC Oxford presenter and interviewer extraordinaire Adina Campbell; author and uber-blogger Morgen Bailey; and crime writer and BeaconLit founder Dave Sivers.

Beacon Villages Community Library might be small, but it’s mighty. Within our four walls you will find a diverse range of books, from children’s picture books to teen fiction or hobby books, as well as a collection of DVDs, local newspapers, magazines, village newsletters and much more.
Brookmead School is a Foundation Primary School for children aged 4 to 11, situated in Ivinghoe on the border with the village of Pitstone. In 1967 the school was relocated from the old school building on The Lawn to the meadow beside the Whistle Brook and became Brookmead School. There are approximately 320 children on roll.
Based in the New Parade, Chorleywood, the Chorleywood Bookshop is owned by Sheryl Shurville and has been around for over forty years. The bookshop is comprised of a core team of dedicated, knowledgeable and above all, passionate staff. Its innovative community outreach work with local businesses, charities and libraries has captured the hearts and minds of locals.
